When we moved into our new flats pals sent a couple of cards and a bottle of cheap plonk while our mums chipped in with a set of matching towels.

Not so Lily Allen …

When Lil moved into her new place all her mates rallied round to help. One even made her Smile by saying her dad could help sort out some top-notch white goods for her on the cheap.

And lucky Lily’s mate just happens to be Camilla al Fayed – whose dad just happens to own Harrods.

And not only is he the nation’s finest shopkeeper, Mohamed al Fayed is also one of the most generous daddys in the world. Jealous? Well, maybe just a tad…

A family friend said: “Lily’s flat is lovely, but it helps when you’ve got friends in high places. When she told Camilla she was moving into her new place she jumped into action and asked her dad if he could help Lily out.

“Of course he said ‘yes’. Not all of it was free, but he gave Lily a massive discount – well over half price – on household stuff that should have cost more than £30,000.

She picked up things like washing machines and dishwashers to make her house completely top-of-the-range.

“He really likes Lily … they met when she opened the Harrods’ sale for him a couple of years ago and got on like a house on fire.

“Mr al Fayed let her have the run of the store that time – and he was more than happy to do that for her again.

“He is always very generous with his friends.”

Taking dog out and wearing badge that seemed to be Daily mail related – 25.07.08.

The shop she was snapped in yesterday was Heidi Klein.

And Heidi Klein is, according to its blurb, “the iconic one-stop destination holiday shop… selling everything for holidays in the sun from bikinis and sunhats to flip-flops and kaftans.” It also, apparently, “creates the perfect holiday wardrobe, from barefoot beach chic to super yacht glamour.”

So are Lily Allen and her Chanel pumps about to go on holiday on a super yacht? Or be chic on a beach (barefooot – so she’ll have to lose those pumps)?

Possibly. Or maybe she was just getting appropriate gear for this baking hot week we’re in right now.
