Lily Allen met London mayor Boris Johnson yesterday (July 17) to discuss the problem of knife crime in the capital.

The singer met Johnson at City Hall after writing on her MySpace blog that she would like to do something to help tackle the problem.

She had written a blog urging UK citizens to stop “stabbing each other in the UK”.

Speaking about the meeting, Johnson told BBC 6music: “I welcome any constructive suggestions on combating knife crime and Lily Allen has already proved her commitment to help address this problem.

“I welcome her proposals and am keen to explore further how she can help us address this serious and distressing problem.

“There is nothing romantic or glamorous about knife crime and I’m delighted Lily will be using her considerable profile and fan base to spread that message.”

Lily, yesterday, posted a new song on her myspace which personally, I think, is amazing! It’s called ‘Who’d Of Known’ but due to the fact of the chorus sounding a little like Take That’s ‘Shine’, it won’t make the album. Here’s what she had to say about it in her blog, titled ‘song’:

i haveput up a song that wont make it on the album . i ripped off the chous from take that and i can’t be bothered with the paperwork , so here ya go .

British pop star Lily Allen has dyed her locks back to her natural dark brown out of respect for her late grandmother – because she couldn’t go to the funeral with pink hair.

Allen’s grandmother died last month, shortly before the star was due to perform at legendary UK music festival Glastonbury.

And the ‘Smile’ hitmaker, who caused a stir by dying her hair fuchsia pink last month, toned down her appearance ahead of the memorial service.

The ‘Smile’ singer has pleaded with other music stars to support her, and has even asked London Mayor Boris Johnson for his support, following 16-year-old Ben Kinsella’s death last month – the 17th person to die as a result of stabbing in London this year.

Lily wrote on her blog: “Please can everyone stop stabbing each other in the UK. It’s really sad – my thoughts are with all the families affected by these heinous crimes. We need to have a knife amnesty, we should put on a big concert to raise awareness and stop the violence. Boris, if you’re listening, call me man!”
