Hello everyone! Lily Allen features in September’s issue of American magazine ‘Paper’. There are some beautiful photos of her shot by Dan Monick wich are below, but first here’s the article:

“In Los Angeles, if you want to feel like you’re not in Los Angeles, stay at the Chateau Marmont. It’s the kind of place, hidden as it is off an elbow of the Sunset Strip, where you imagine homesick Europeans holed up between screen tests, drawn to its provincial layout and shadowy bungalows.

On this summer day, it’s the Saturday Night Live cast members doing the holing up. Amy Poehler is sitting alone, and minutes later Bill Hader arrives — you know, the guy who isn’t Andy Samberg — not to meet Poehler but to decamp to a back table. Meanwhile, a group of British entertainment biz dudes make an entrance dressed, as Brits in L.A. are wont to do, like 13-year-old boys from the Valley waiting for their moms to drive them to the beach. And then at 10:30 a.m. on the dot — not a minute later, no sheepish apologies needed — comes Ms. Lily Allen. If you’d been following the tabloids up until then, you might have thought it impossible for Allen to get out of bed this early, much less meet a journalist for an interview at the appointed time, all on her own. Weeks earlier she had to be carried out of the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in her hot pink Giles Deacon dress and even hotter pink hair. But as Allen sits down inconspicuously and orders tea, it’s clear that she’s in L.A. to work on her music, not her profile.” Click here to read the full interview.

The “Smile” songstress was spotted hanging out with pal Miquita Oliver at the Groucho Club and Ronnie Scott’s last night in London, England when the latest incident occurred.

Apparently a member of the public decided to hurl a bevy of insults at Miss Allen throughout the evening, going so far as to follow her to her car.

Finally having enough of it all, Lily cocked back and punched her assailant three times before her friends were able to help her into her vehicle.

I haven’t posted the pictures of the fight out of respect for Lily. But there are images from the night.

“Whagwan Bluds ,

So i went on a little holiday to Ibiza last week , didn’t get much sun cause i’ve been glued to the Olympics . I did go out one night though , to Space , it was all a bit of a blast from the past, cause last time i was in Ibiza I was 15 and working on the main strip in San Antonio selling tickets to nightclubs with tokens for free shots of vomit inducing alcohol , living in a welsh hostel . It was nice to experience the island in a different way , we went to lots of nice restaurants and did lots of swimming and it was all very fun .

Now , the album . it has been finished for a while now , I don’t really know whats going on with it . The record industry is a very political place at the moment and I am on EMI records , lots of people have been fired or have taken redundancy recently as the company was taken over by a private equity firm called Terra Firma . Many of these people were people assigned to my projects and now i don’t quite know whats going on . I’m sure everyone will find their feet soon enough and i’ll be able to put the album out soon .

In the meantime there are the olympics to watch and the football seasons starting which are both far more entertaining anyway. I’m gonna go to the V concerts tomorrow , which will be fun i’m sure , and then i might go on another holiday as i don’t have anything else to do .

Lots of love

Lily

ps thank you to the Met for getting my friend Charlie back , we were all terrified and from what i hear you guys did an amazing job.”

Katy Perry has played down the comparisons with Allen and the reported battle.

Perry has been quoted as saying, “I think I sound different to her. She’s in a league of her own.”

Both Allen and Perry’s new albums, Stuck On The Naughty Step and One Of The Boys respectively, were set to be released in Britain soon.

Perry shot to fame with her song I Kissed a Girl. The lyrics include, I kissed a girl and I liked it… the taste of her cherry chapstick. Some fans approached Perry taking the lyrics literally.
