The 23-year-old singer said she was “terrified” after her pal was taken by a group of armed men.

The friend and another man, both in their 20s, were working at a sports store in west London last month when the men apparently entered the store and bundled the shop workers into a car.

The group are alleged to have held the pair hostage at an address in Thamesmead, south east London, and demanded a ransom of £75,000 from their families.

Lily’s friend and his co-worker were found by police a week later on August 9. They were handcuffed with their heads covered but were unhurt.

A number of men have appeared in court in connection with the alleged kidnapping.

Allen wrote on her blog: “Thank you to the Met for getting my friend back, we were all terrified and from what I hear you guys did an amazing job.”

Singer Sandi Thom has blasted Lily Allen’s behaviour, after she allegedly hit a girl outside a London nightclub.

Referring to the incident in a posting on her website, Thom wrote: “I can’t believe Lily Allen hit that girl in the street, what the hell is that girl all about?”

She continued: “I can’t believe she is slagging off Katy Perry as well, I am on Katy’s side, I think she is great! Lily must be too busy starting fights and slagging people off to write some new songs!”

“I always expected her next album to be out the same time as me as both our first albums came out at the same time. But not a peep,” Thom wrote.

The Smile star, who was co-hosting the GQ Men of the Year awards in London, introduced Winstone to the stage by saying: “Please welcome my very soon-to-be sister-in-law Jamie Winstone.”

When she came on, Allen asked her: “Where’s the Elizabeth Duke diamond, man?”

The Kidulthood actress said in response: “Shut up, no one’s supposed to know.”

Co-host Elton John looked shocked and quizzed Allen off camera: “Is Alfie marrying her?”, to which she murmured, “Yeah.”
